Submitted by Wayne on Tue, 2009-01-06 09:59. Creationism | StupidityFor 150 years, idiots have been looking for the mythological planet Vulcan. No, it's not the one from Star Trek, although they did take the name from this myth. 150 years ago, astronomers began looking for a hypothetical planet with an orbit between Mercury and the sun. They theorized its existence because Mercury's orbit was not behaving as the models were predicting. They predicted an elliptical orbit, and they saw one, but they also observed this ellipse slowly rotating (the foci were not stationary as the models predicted). They concluded there must be another planet, a fairly large one, that was pulling Mercury's orbit around. » read more »
Global Warming? You Betcha' if You're Uncle Sam!
Submitted by paulfranklin on Mon, 2009-01-05 20:42. EnvironmentThe Bush administration didn't cave into the global warming lie until recently, just as the lie was being debunked by many scientists. Now I know why our government has had a change of heart...

Submitted by Wayne on Mon, 2009-01-05 10:49. IslamMuslims like to whine about how they're treated "badly" in the U.S., a frequent victim of Muslim doctrine. Fundamental doctrine in Islam requires the murder of infidels, especially Jews and Christians. It's not only stated in the Koran/Quran, but it's repeated. If only 10% of Muslims take their Koran seriously, that's 100,000,000 terrorists right there. So, yes, if you identify yourself as Muslim, it's reasonable to conclude there's a fair chance you're a potential terrorist. The burden of proof would seem to be on the Muslim himself, to demonstrate how he has rejected the Koran. » read more »
Censorship
Submitted by Wayne on Mon, 2009-01-05 10:10. Islam | PoliticsWND had a link to an MSNBC article about 9 Muslims being pulled off a plane because of suspicious remarks they made. Even though the article still shows up in MSNBC's own search engine, the article itself has been pulled. I guess they can't have the pesky truth interfering with their worship of all things Muslim.
How Bush threw election to Obama
Submitted by Wayne on Mon, 2009-01-05 10:06. PoliticsFrom http://www.worldnetdaily.com/?pageId=85277 :
In the beginning of September, Bush announced, in the most dire terms imaginable, a bailout package for mortgage lenders. He assigned Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson to begin emergency negotiations with Congress on the size and scope. It was presented to the American people not as a request, but as a demand. There was no time for debate. The very stability of the economy and the markets hung on an immediate action.
That's the day McCain's fate was sealed.

Consumer Protection
Submitted by Wayne on Sun, 2009-01-04 10:55.Next month, a new Consumer Protection law goes into effect. From what I understand, all items sold for kids under 12 years old (books, clothes, toys) must be tested for lead and other theoretically bad stuff. The catch is, it applies to used stuff, consignments, and even stuff given away for free. The only way to sell/give such items, then, would be independent testing and associated documentation of such. The day it goes into effect (Feb. 10, 2009) is being called National Bankruptcy Day because of all the businesses that will go under as a result. » read more »
Scratch on LCD screen
Submitted by Charla on Sat, 2009-01-03 11:24. TechnologyHelp needed. Any advice appreciated.
Toddler scratched an LCD screen. I'd like to repair it, but all I'm finding on the net is to either rub petroleum jelly into the scratch, or take it in for repair. I don't want to do either. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You may, too. I suggest bookmarking this page of links for easy reference. As other scales and tests are developed here, I'll add them to this list. » read more »
